The Problem
We all love Six Flags Great Adventure. It’s indeed amazing and the favorite amusement park for many living in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia. As we all know it attracts visitors from New York and Philadelphia who have easy access from the New Jersey Turnpike, the Garden State Parkway and Interstate 195. The closest brand-name hotel is nine miles away! This needed to change year after year but still nothing.
The problem?
Water!
Although they have reached an agreement with the theme park and at least one other developer to help pay for a project that would deliver the water service that businesses need to operate, still there is only a one business operating.
Currently the only “building” is the Tommy's Inn at Millstone, a log cabin of a building across Route 537 from Six Flags Great Adventure. It isn't really an inn, or a decent place to stay for the night, but it doesn't stop the theme park's visitors from calling the restaurant in search of a place to stay.
This needs to be solved fast
This just replicates of how poor the situation is and how the county and the theme park need to act fast to make the theme park even more accessible and enjoyable for the visitors. A lot of businesses are missing out the opportunities to make profit and to employ more people just because of a technicality that can be resolved.
Even Six Flags Great Adventure wants this solved. "Many of our guests travel from out of state and even internationally, and they would certainly benefit from hotels nearby”, stated a spokeswoman from the amusement park.
Six Flags Great Adventure attracted about 3 million visitors in 2015, making it the 19th most-visited amusement park nationwide. Hopefully next season there will be 1 more hotel on the Route 537 at least in the process of being build.
Thoughts? When do you think this will be resolved and why do you think the problem persists?
