Who Was He
Tim Osborn was one of those people who helped everyone and who never forgot where he came from.
The former Brick Township High School football player and assistant football coach, who died in April 2013, loved the Dragons and was passionate about mentoring other young people and preparing them for life's challenges the way he had been mentored.
Osborn -- a retired New Jersey State Police sergeant who also coached at Toms River North and started the football program at Jackson Liberty High School when it opened in 2007 -- touched many lives over his coaching career, which included 17 years at his alma mater.
Brick Remembers
To honor his memory, the Brick Township Green Dragons football team has established the Tim Osborn Memorial Golf Outing. The inaugural outing is scheduled for Aug. 1 at Woodlake Country Club in Lakewood.
The outing is $125 per person to play golf, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart privileges, three golf balls and a bag of tees, plus lunch afterward. There is a lunch-only option for $40. Golf begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The registration deadline is July 29.
