The event occurred just before 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, when police responded to the Bally's parking garage for a report of domestic assault. There, officers found 32-year-old J. C., who had been already been separated from his 41-year-old girlfriend by casino security after assaulting her. This was possibly due to overuse of alcohol.
He was released due to pending detention hearing. Even though the woman, who is from Freehold, sustained injuries and was treated at the site, the attacker was released. The male, of Saugerties, N.Y., was charged with simple assault and released pending a detention hearing.
Second offenseSurprisingly, later that day, the police came back again to the hotel for a report of a sexual assault. They found that a 51-year-old woman, who worked at the hotel, had been pushed into a hotel room and sexually and physically assaulted by a man, police said.
The second attacked woman was also injured. She was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the attack, according to police.
After the police investigated the case they started the search for the attacker. Just before 2 p.m., officers spotted him walking along Atlantic Avenue, and attempted to arrest him. He first fled, but was apprehended after a short chase, police said.
J. C faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, burglary, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, sexual assault, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. And to the luck of all of us, He is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
